Guided by the Butterfly Series

It is a series of stoneware vases and a pitcher handbuilt by Rita Kettaneh. It is inspired by the butterfly's wings on a microscopic level, a view of wonder that left its imprint on her and emphasised the significance of this creature in her life. This series is a journey of exploring the subtlety of form, the flowing quality of movement, and the serendipitous process of discovery as endowed by the butterfly.

"Through this series, I tried to come closer to portraying the nature of the wings and in a way, come closer to the unreachable butterfly. Sometimes it escaped further beyond and other times it felt like I was almost communicating with it." Rita Kettaneh
